Closed Greater Manchester day nursery seeks new operator

18 January 2018: The owner of a Greater Manchester day nursery that closed its doors in November 2017 is seeking a new operator to bring it back into action as a childcare provider. Blacks Business Brokers has been appointed by the owner and former operator of Daisy Chains Nursery in Ramsbottom to find a new leaseholder.

Daisy Chains Nursery has a 20-year heritage as a provider of high-quality childcare. The fully equipped nursery, which was operated for ten years by the owner, Rebecca Priestman, is on the market for £10,000 plus a negotiable rent.

Anthony Meadowcroft, new business department manager at Blacks Business Brokers, said, "Daisy Chains Nursery was an integral part of the Ramsbottom community for two decades and was well-known for its child-centred, personalised approach. Due to increasing external factors, however, the owner sadly found herself with no option but to close the business at the end of November 2017.

"Looking to the future this well-appointed, fully equipped nursery's location and heritage offer a superb opportunity for a new owner to re-open the business, or for an existing nursery operator to expand into this affluent, well-connected area. The terms on which the lease is being marketed are very competitive and I am confident that it will not be long before this fabulous facility is once again providing local residents and commuters with fantastic childcare."

The affluent market town of Ramsbottom is located on the northern periphery of Greater Manchester, within the borough of Bury. The town centre is home to a variety of businesses, is a popular residential location for professionals who commute into Manchester, and is located adjacent to the M66 motorway.

The nursery is set within the ground floor of a large detached property. It was rated "Good" at its most recent OFSTED inspection and is registered to accommodate 67 children aged six-weeks and upwards.

It houses three separate childcare rooms - a baby room, with access to its own enclosed outdoor play area, a toddler room and a pre-school. The property has a separate outdoor play area for toddlers and pre-schoolers, as well as its own car park.

Other facilities include a well-equipped catering kitchen, a staff room and an administration office.

The nursery is being marketed by Blacks and also by its specialist division Abacus Day Nursery Sales.
