East Ayrshire Council is reminding parents and carers of young children that school registration dates open next week.

If a child turns 5 between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2018 they'll need to be registered for school during the week commencing Monday 16 January 2017.

Parents/carers are asked to check the day(s)/time(s) of enrolment with your appropriate primary school and go with their child on the day.

Please bring the child's birth certificate and proof of your residence in the catchment area, in the form of a Council Tax Notice or utility bill.

Find out more at: www.eac.eu/schooladmissions

Parents can also access Gaelic Medium Education (GME) for their child by enrolling directly with the GME department at Onthank Primary School during enrolment week.

For further information contact the school directly on 01563 525477.

Parents may also make a written request to place their child in any other school - having first enrolled them at their local school (as above).

Placing requests for the session beginning August 2017, for both primary and secondary schools, must be received by 28 February 2017.

Requests can be completed and submitted online at: www.eac.eu/schoolplacingrequest

Alternatively, requests can be sent directly to:

Economy and Skills, Civic Centre South, 16 John Dickie Street, Kilmarnock, KA1 1HW.

You can get also help and assistance in making your request by calling 01563 555653.

Information relating to East Ayrshire Council schools, enrolment procedures and placing requests is available from the above address, from all local primary schools and at: www.goo.gl/RdDKsU.
