New model ensures food safety
and quality, while minimising HACCP critical touch points
It’s the microwave that’s
almost impossible to operate incorrectly.
With ScanHeat from Falcon, the user simply scans the barcode on the food
packaging, pops it in the oven and waits for the beep. ScanHeat does the rest.
The new microwave was
developed by Marren for Falcon. The
scanning system not only means the user can’t go wrong, it also ensures safety
and eating quality. That’s thanks to its
multi-stage cooking, which allows three separate steps within each program,
making it easy to get exactly the results required. Since it can hold up to 900 programs, there’s
almost no end to the recipes it can cook.
And if a site needs a 901st, it’s not an issue as it’s very
easy to create a new cooking program, using the ScanHeat App.
A vital issue that’s even more
in focus due to the pandemic is reducing critical HACCP touch points. The ScanHeat helps here since there’s no need
to unwrap the food, or to touch the control panel. Hygiene is further enhanced by the wipe clean
oven chamber and the removable roof liner and air filter.
As kitchens get smaller
there’s more and more pressure to reduce the equipment’s footprint. The ScanHeat scores here, too, as it’s
stackable, with no need for additional kit – so two microwaves occupy the same
footprint as one.
The machine is just one part
of the story – looking after it long term is the other. Falcon will be offering a full customer after
sales package, including training, while Marren will be delivering
comprehensive service support.
“Marren is the microwave
specialist,” says Lawrence Hughes, sales director of Falcon. “They develop excellent microwaves and they
back them up with award-winning, market-leading service. When we realised our customers had a
requirement for this type of technology, Marren were the obvious partner of
choice for us.”
Marren will offer a comprehensive
choice of service packages, from full PPM to ad hoc repair. Because they are a microwave specialist,
their engineers deliver a very high first-time fix rate of 95%. Amongst the company’s service industry
‘firsts’ are smart glasses for engineers.
They allow managers in the office to ‘see’ through the glasses the
engineers in the field are wearing, so they can offer direct support and help
sort any tricky technical problem.
Kelly Barrell is business
development manager at Marren. “We are
really excited to be working with
an iconic brand like Falcon Foodservice Equipment on the ScanHeat microwave,”
she says. “After focusing on this
project for over 16 months it's so rewarding to see it winging its way into the
market.”
Hughes says, “ScanHeat’s ‘scan-heat-eat’
offer provides a safe, effective cooking solution in a huge range of sites,
across the industry. We expect it to
appeal especially in sectors such as self-service, QSR, universities, canteens
and hospitals.”
