Dan Cooper, founder of theLolly Foundation, is on a mission to support the 'lost generation' of young people who have been severely impacted by COVID-19 and are experiencing panic anduncertainty over their employment prospects.

Believing passionately that businesses can make a difference whilst making a profit, Dan Cooper - MD of digital transformation companyLolly.Co, establishedThe Lolly Foundationto provideapprenticeship schemes for graduates and school leavers of 18 or over, including the most disadvantaged in society, with training courses in business technology.

Dan Cooper explained: "The coronavirus crisis has hit workers hard and young have been affected to a greater degree than most. One third of 18-24 year old employees have lost jobs or beenfurloughed; the under 25s now make up a third of new universal credit claims and university graduates are facing a particularly tough time. It is more important than ever that apprenticeshipschemes exist to offer people a bona fide route to skilled employment in a range of exciting professions such as business technology."

"The National Apprenticeship Week 2021 provides the opportunity to celebrate apprenticeships and the laudable work that is being done by schools, the FE sector and employers across thecountry. It should also encourage more business owners to play a part in supporting the career prospects of the next generation" he added.
