Staffs firm helps haulier enhance its
green credentials
e
A Staffordshire company specialising in industrial battery systems has helped a major transport firm to reduce costs whilst enhancing its environmental credentials.
Hoppecke Industrial Batteries, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, delivered a cost-effective and ecologically sound materials handling solution for Pall-Ex network shareholder DBL Logistics.
Working in partnership with CAM Fork Lift Trucks, Hoppecke capitalised on the latest innovations in vented lead-acid battery technology to switch some of DBL's gas-powered forklifts to electric machines.
As well as reducing the family-owned haulier's carbon footprint, the new-look truck fleet will boost business performance. Is pallet networking, general haulage and bespoke warehousing operation will benefit from reduced materials handling costs. A fuel cost analysis showed that DBL Logistics could save more than £15,000 over five years.
Generations of some local families have worked at Hoppecke's Wolstanton site. Once again, its team has pulled together to support an important new customer.
Gus Whyte, Hoppecke'sSales Director-UK and Ireland says: "Despite the difficulties we have all faced due to coronavirus and the uncertainties created by Brexit, our team's commitment shines through. Whilst some staff are working from home during lockdown, onsite production continues and it is very much business as usual."
Lewis Fox, Sales Manager at Sheffield-based CAM Fork Lift Trucks, says: "It was a pleasure to work with Hoppecke on this important contract. Wide industry experience and expertise in all types of battery technologies together with a dedicated team makes for a winning combination. Hoppecke is ideally set up to support businesses like ours and DBL Logistics."
