VPS UK's excellence recognised in security sector Awards

Leading European security specialists, VPS UK, have been shortlisted in four categories at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards, including the prestigious Best Contribution to Security Standards.

Now in their twenty-first year, the IFSEC Security & Fire Excellence Awards have consistently broken new ground in highlighting the best people, projects and processes that the security and fire industries have to offer.  This year they have converted their annual gala awards dinner into a high-tech virtual event, with an interactive show, on November 25th.

VPS' property guardians division, VPS Guardians, is up for Best Contribution to Security Standards for their sector-leading Direct Partnerships with Primary Authorities for both safety and environmental audits, and for their active and founding membership of the Property Guardian Providers Association.

VPS UK itself is shortlisted for Security Installer of the Year.

"Our entry cited two incredibly strong project examples" says Richard Reid, VPS Group Commercial Director"The protection of a 250-acre data centre construction site in Ireland, the largest in the country, for a social media giant, and also the  astonishing key management and access provision for over 550 Thomas Cook stores across the UK and Northern Ireland, within just 48 hours, when it went into administration last September."

That same Thomas Cook task features in VPS UK's Security Project of the Year, titled 'Mission Possible'.

Finally, VPS' Highways Solutions team are selected as finalists for the Security Solution Innovation of the Year, for their traffic incursions system that provides a life-saving safety alert for roadworkers, one of the riskiest jobs in Britain, frequently working next to cars travelling at very high speeds.

"It's a massive honour for our VPS staff to  have earned the recognition from their peers in the security sector's most important awards." adds Darron Cavanagh, VPS Group's Chief Operating Officer. "Promoting standards in security not only benefits VPS' customers, but also helps to lift the benchmarks across the sector. Protecting people, property and assets is a serious business, and every day our staff show commitment and passion to work in partnership with our customers to find the best-fit solutions to manage the risks to their assets."

Currently Transport Technology Business of the Year for their innovative Intelligent Traffic Management Solutions, VPS has won many accolades in recent years, previously winning best contribution to raising standards, but also for customer care, installer and innovation.
