No Money, No Honey - Size of Wallet Matters in Love for Women

No Money, No Honey - Size of Wallet Matters in Love for Women

February 7th 2018

It's been said that money can't buy happiness, but while the laws of attraction may differ from person to person, the size of a man's wallet truly is a determining factor when women are looking for romantic partners. Not only is he expected to pay when a couple are in a nice restaurant together. She will also expect gifts but not be likely to give them herself. And although he would really appreciate getting some back, he often won't and doesn't expect it. Gender stereotypes dominate the dating arena.

A recent study by salary.com shows that 41% of all women (admits to) find the size of wallet relevant when considering a potential partner.

Another study by ForbesWomen shows that all of three-quarters of women would turn down a marriage proposal from a man who is unemployed.

Gender stereotypes do thrive in modern dating
And reality seems to be even clearer cut when it comes to gender but not so gentle equality. A new survey conducted by Victoria Milan- a dating network for married and attached people looking to have an extramarital affair -shows that there really is no financial equality when it comes to who pays and what is expected financially in romance.

The survey shows that more than twice as many women believe men have to pay for dinner instead of dividing the bill. And 75% of men expect to pay the bill for dinner, wholly 64% of women fully agree. Less than 5% of the women would pick up the bill.

Even women in the world's most equal countries expect that the man also gives them expensive gifts and romantic vacations without giving the same things back.

The findings do not surprise founder and CEO of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal:

"It is interesting that the percentage of women's expectation of who pays is significantly higher than the number of women who will admit to letting size of wallet matter in love - although this number is also high. Equality in the sense of ‘being alike' does not seem to be what most people seek in relationship - especially when it comes to money. I am happy to see that the two genders at least agree on the matter and their expectations to each other. Women and menaredifferent. Maybe that's part of the attraction."

Victoria Milanis one of the world's leading discreet social networks for men and women seeking a discreet affair. The network was launched in 2010 by media executive, Mr. Sigurd Vedal, and is today one of the world's fastest growing and leading social networks for discreet extramarital affairs, surpassing 5 million members worldwide in more than 33 countries.
