Meet CNWL's new Clinical Director for Milton Keynes mental health services

For immediate publication

Dr Stephanie Oldroyd is the new Clinical Director for mental health services in Milton Keynes.

She replaces Dr Farouk Okhai.

Dr Oldroyd, a consultant clinical psychologist, is currently the lead psychologist for mental health and the clinical lead for the Specialist Memory Service.

The role will involve working with Service Director Tyrone Blackford-Swairies to support the development of mental health services in Milton Keynes, with a focus on clinical leadership and the delivery of quality services that are patient-focussed, safe, effective and caring. Alongside this she will be managing the medical staffing across the service.

"I'm looking forward to starting as this is a great opportunity for me to play a leading role in the future development of mental health services in Milton Keynes," she said.

"My personal priorities will be to get to know some of the teams and services that I don't know as well and to look at service transformation - in particular the part we will play in the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) Sustainable and Transformation Partnership in which there is a big mental health element."

Dr Oldroyd has worked for 14 years in Milton Keynes as a clinical psychologist. She started working across older adult and adult mental health services but gradually devoted all her time to older adult mental health services, helping set up the Specialist Memory Service in 2011.

She will start on January 1.
