EAST END GIRL GOES UPTOWN

EAST END GIRL GOES UPTOWN

With her unique vocals, Camden vibe and her very own jazz band, Essex born singer/songwriter, Georgia Crandon, is really getting herself noticed, and is set to front the new entertainment programme at the iconic Motcombs in Belgravia over the next month.

Belgravia's favourite neighbourhood restaurant and brasserie, Motcombs is a wonderful British affair situated just metres from the bustling shops of Sloane Street. An impeccable wine list and the varied menu with its impressive selection of fresh fish and game dishes ensures this Knightsbridge institution continues to attract locals and visitors alike.

Georgia and her band, The Vintage Youth, will be bringing an edgy and refreshing brand of jazz, blues and reggae to Motcombs' new entertainment programme. The combination of Georgia's compelling stagecraft, soaring vocals and trademark sound are bound to captivate the Motcomb crowd, which includes regulars such as, Sir Alex Fergusson and John Cleese.

Fresh from live performances at Quaglinos, Georgia's fan base is certainly growing, as is her reputation amongst her peers. Recently described by Mo Pleasure, former musical director of Earth, Wind & Fire as a, "real talent with an intriguing sound", Georgia is flying high following the recent release of her album, El Reco.

Georgia has been writing songs and playing the piano from the age of 10.Her clever compositionsblend influences from Louis Prima, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, and more recent legends like Amy Winehouse, Paulo Nutini and Paloma Faith.

It is only two years since Georgia first made her mark at the Birmingham NEC where she took 2nd place in the Teen Star 2015 National Grand Finalbeating9000 other hopefuls. Her acoustic solo rendition of a re-worked Rodgers & Hammerstein piece "My Favourite Things"performed live during the competition final was sensational.

Last year Georgia and The Vintage Youth were invited to perform live at Gary Crowley's BBC Introducing Show at the BBC Summer Festival and have since become regular faces on the London scene performing at trendy East End gigs as well as the more uptown West End. I think that Georgia is definitely the Uptown girl of the moment!
