Shorelines | Alasdair Lindsay 20 Years of Painting

Celebrating his 20th year as one of Cornwall's leading landscape painters, Alasdair Lindsay announces the publication of Shorelines, a full colour, hardback book which beautifully illustrates the development of his painting, and profiles the artist's life, career and inspirations. Many of Alasdair's works study areas where the sea meets the land, and he is particularly noted for his aerial landscapes of both Cornwall, and more recently London's Thames area, and his pairing of striking architectural subjects with strong, geometric compositions. With 152 pages and over 90 superb quality colour illustrations of his most definitive paintings, it includes forewords by respected author Patrick Gale and arts writer Mercedes Smith, as well as an introduction by Sarah Brittain-Mansbridge, director of Cornwall Contemporary Art Gallery.

The perfect Christmas gift for admirers of both Cornish painting and contemporary British landscape, order by Friday 8th December for a limited edition signed copy.

Editors Notes

Alasdair Lindsay

Alasdair Lindsay graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Falmouth College of Art in 1996, and since that time has built a reputation as one of Cornwall's leading landscape painters. Many of his works study areas where sea meets land, and he is particularly noted for his aerial landscapes of both Cornwall, and more recently London's Thames River. Mid-century American painting, in particular California Bay Area Figuration, is a significant inspiration in Alasdair's work, and his pairing of architectural subjects with strongly geometric compositions reflects the long history of negotiation between representational and non-representational aspects of both Californian and Cornish painting since the middle of the last century. His work is held in private and public collections in the UK, Europe and the USA. He lives and works in West Cornwall, with his wife and two daughters.
