This October, Oliver Contemporary, London presents Paths Through Colour, an exhibition of new work by painter Liz Hough. An artist in the Modern British tradition, Hough's work addresses and interprets ideas of place. The thirty mixed-media paintings in this exhibition take inspiration from both the landscapes in and around her home of St Ives, Cornwall, and the rugged, unspoilt countryside of Umbria, Italy. Taking form as her starting point, she uses collage, painted papers, rhythmic monochrome patterns and a softy coloured palette of oil and acrylics to create perfectly balanced, semi abstracted works that achieve an intriguing, interpretive essence of these uniquely beautiful landscapes.

The exhibition is on show from Thursday 12th to Saturday 28th October. There will also be an opportunity to meet the artist at 3pm on Saturday 14th October, for drinks and an informal talk about her paintings. The Private View will be held from 6 - 9pm on 12th October. Contact the gallery for further information.
