Hoppecke Industrial Batteries - theleading specialist in industrial battery systems and the largest battery manufacturer in European ownership - is proud to announce that it raised £1,000 for Mental Health Awareness Week.

During the recent Railtex 2017 exhibition - held at the NEC, Birmingham, from 9-11 May - Hoppecke asked visitors to its stand to make a voluntary donation to obtain one of its famous Hoppecke bears, which had been given a limited edition makeover specifically for the international exhibition that focuses on railway equipment, systems and services.

In just three days, Hoppecke handed over around 300 Railtex-branded bears which were so popular that the company eventually ran out of them and a box containing 100 standard bears had to be brought in to cope with demand.

In the end, visitors to the Hoppecke stand handed over £906.15 for the Mental Health Foundation and Hoppecke rounded this up to £1,000.

Megan Ruddlesden, Events and Community Fundraising Manager at the Mental Health Foundation, said: "We're thrilled Hoppecke has chosen to support the Mental Health Foundation this year. With support from companies likes Hoppecke, Mental Health Awareness week is growing every year, allowing us to spread the word about maintaining good mental health, and prevent mental health problems from arising in the first place. Thank you so much to Hoppecke for helping us to work towards a world with good mental health for all."

Jason Howlett, Hoppecke's Regional Managing Director - Northern Europe, added: "Hoppecke takes its corporate responsibility very seriously and we are delighted to have done our bit to help raise awareness as well as these substantial funds for such a worthy cause as Mental Health Awareness Week. The Mental Health Foundation is a great charity that does some amazing work and we are pleased that so many of our Railtex visitors contributed to the cause and were willing to give a good home to our rather special Hoppecke bears."
