ATLAS PACKAGING AND TCi (GB) Ltd HAVECREATED A 100% RECYCLABLE CORRUGATED OFFICE DESK

Atlas Packaging and TCi (GB) Ltd, both based in North Devon, have created a corrugated solution to help minimise waste created by the disposal of office furniture.

Recognising the enormous waste problem created by temporary office provisions, particularly within the construction industry, TCi (GB) Ltd has worked with Atlas Packaging to develop a 100% recyclable, sustainable cardboard desk. Site accommodation furniture typically has a life of 2-5 years, and often end up in a landfill due to the costs associated with sorting and re-purposing.

Having previously supplied a sustainable desk solution for some high profile construction clients, TCi (GB) Ltd decided to develop the design to suit the market more appropriately, and collaborated with one of the UK’s largest, most comprehensive packaging companies.

Atlas Packaging, known for creating high-quality boxes, cartons, point of sale displays and other packaging solutions, combined their wealth of experience in cardboard engineering to create the ECOdesk360 professional quality Cardboard Workstation in partnership with TCi (GB) Ltd. The ECOdesk360 is made entirely of corrugated board that is 100% recyclable, and just as robust as traditional office desks, complete with integral cable management and a hard-wearing recyclable acrylic top. The desk has been fully tested by FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association) to BS EN 527-2:2002 & BS EN 527-3:2003 standards for office furniture; work tables and desks.

For specific projects, the desk allows bespoke logo printing to the white side panels to strengthen corporate image and identity.

Both Atlas Packaging and TCi (GB) Ltd have an ethos to minimise carbon emissions, providing environmentally-friendly solutions during both the processing and completion of their solutions.

Altogether, the ECOdesk360 represents a pioneering shift towards sustainability without compromise on quality or service.
