PSM’s Pioneering Mud Density Transmitter for the Oil & Gas Industry
Following on from customer feedback and market research, PSM Instrumentation designed and developed their Series 290 Mud Density Transmitter specifically for use in the on and offshore oil and gas industry. It is the first fluid density transmitter that can be fully submersible and used on drilling mud, slurry, cement and completion fluids.
The transmitter operates on the principal of differential pressure measurement, featuring two hydraulically linked sensing diaphragms at a fixed separation. The differential pressure seen between these two diaphragms has a direct relationship to the fluid in the tank.
Due to its ease of installation, serviceability and reliable plus accurate performance, PSM are delighted to report 100% year on year sales growth of the transmitter, and have high profile customers such as Halliburton using it.
Key Features
Just some of the key features of the transmitter are:
- Constructed in stainless steel and hastelloy
- Can be installed in mixing, recirculation and storage tanks
- Simple and flexible pole-mounting installation from the top of tank
- Can be removed at any time for routine cleaning
- Electronics termination module is mounted outside the tank
- Provides a 2 wire 4-20mA signal calibrated to industry norm or specific needs
- Certified Intrinsically Safe for use in Hazardous Areas
