POPULAR CHRISTMAS POP-UP OPENS IN THE DUNDAS SHOPPING CENTRE

A popular festive pop-up shop has opened for the second year in Middlesbrough selling Christmas cards, gifts and posters.

The Christmas Box has re-located from Linthorpe Road to Dundas Shopping Centre, where it joins the Wrap Shack, a pop-up trader in the Dundas Indoor Market, which provides a present wrapping service.  Both businesses will be trading until Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Box is run by the same family which operates The Card Shark, a well-known business which operates Darlington Indoor Market year round.  It spent a successful six weeks in a retail unit on Linthorpe Road last year.  Owner Nuric Liddle said: “Our pop-up shop in Middlesbrough proved to be very successful last year, so we are delighted to be moving into the Dundas Centre this Christmas where we expect to benefit from a better passing trade.”

Other retailers in the Dundas Shopping Centre are also joining in the festive cheer, with anchor stores Boyes and B&M leading the sales of a wide range of toys, presents, decorations and everything else for the festive season.

“We are pleased that the Dundas Shopping Centre is at 100% occupancy for the Christmas trading period.  It’s the place in town to shop for festive bargains, and there will be new opportunities in the New Year for retailers who want to benefit from a weekly footfall of more than 60,000,” says Dundas Centre Managing Agent Richard Wilson of Middlesbrough property consultants Dodds Brown.
