Up-and-Coming Nottingham Boxer Prepares for Fight on Friday

Up-and-coming new boxing talent Paul "the Meatball" Thompson is preparing to get back in the ring on Friday for the latest bout in his boxing career. Nottingham-based Thompson will be facing his first international opponent, Csaba Kerek from Budapest on Friday 9thFebruary at Pryzm nightclub in Nottingham.

 

Thompson, 25, who is sponsored by local firm of tax preparation specialists DSR Tax Claims, spoke of his excitement in getting back in the ring, stating that "it's my first international opponent and my first 6 round fight and I've got a great feeling about this". After his defeat of Tim Sobers in September last year, which saw him take the EBF Midlands area Super Welterweight title in a points victory, Thompson is now undergoing the process of turning professional and has big boxing plans for this year. Speaking about how he has moved training camp to DCT and changed job so that he is now able to dedicate more time to his training, he stated that he was looking forward to "fighting on a bigger stage".
