"Coupledom is the norm. Yet, whether through choice or circumstance, bereavement or divorce, there are now millions of people living alone. Anyone who finds themselves living alone can reluctantly lead a shrunken life, waiting for friends to be available, for family to invite them out. But you CAN get that coffee, see that play, or go for a country walk on your own...I will show you how to live your best life every day. Being lonely and living alone do not have to be the same thing!"- Christine Ingall, Solo Success author & solo lifestyle expert

Christine Ingall wants her book, and her involvement in international shows such as the Best You Expo, to positively impact the lives of the 7.7 million people in the UK living on their own. Why? Because it's her belief that people on their own stop doing the sorts of social things that theythinkcan only be done by a couple or group; like going out to see a show or film, stopping at a café or pub for a drink, or going for a long walk. Theyshrinktheir life in this way out of thefearof being seen to be on their own:beingvisibly alone. At a time when society is concerned about the ageing population and the growing number of people who feel lonely (9 million in the UK reported being lonely according to a Red Cross report), no-one else is focusing on how to get realistic and impactful support for those who live alone, the largest proportion of whom are middle-aged. According to researchers at Brigham Young University in Utah, US, (who reviewed data from studies that included 3.4 million people), loneliness can increase the risk of death by at least 30%. It is as dangerous as smoking 15 cigarettes a day, and more tightly linked to our mortality than better-known lifestyle risks like obesity and lack of exercise. Christine has a totally unique, much-needed, step-by-step guide that helps such people to conquer their fear, and build the confidence to pursue the things they enjoy doing, when they want to do them and, most importantly,on their own.

Christine Ingall never expected to be single and live alone for more than 30 years, or that it could be so much fun and pass so quickly. She hasn't always found it natural or easy to pursue her hobbies and do the things she loves on her own. It's from this personal experience that Christine writes and talks so warmly, openly and she's armed with tips, tricks and strategies - she's failed countless times so you don't have to!

‘In 2017, 7.7 million people lived alone in the UK, more than half were under 65. Those living alone aged 45 to 64 years increased by 53% between 1996 and 2017.' -- Office for National Statistics Statistical Bulletin: Families and Households in the UK 2017 (November 2017)
