Rapeseed oil producer marks 10 years in business with 10 competitions

A Thixendale based rapeseed oil producer is celebrating its tenth anniversary by launching the first of 10 competitions that will run throughout 2018.

To help the artisan oil producer to celebrate its special anniversary, Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery is the first to offer an exclusive prize for Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil fans.

Wold Top Brewery, itself celebrating 15 years in business in 2018, has offered a brewery tour for a party of four, followed by lunch and a pint and a gift pack of beer for the winners to take home.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil launched their first competition on Facebook and Twitter this week and participants have until 11thFebruary to be in with a chance of winning.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's marketing manager, Jennie Palmer said that they are delighted to mark the beginning of their celebrations with this coveted prize from a fellow Yorkshire farm based family business.

"Our tenth anniversary is a tremendous milestone for us and we're delighted to share the celebrations with our fans and customers.

"The anniversary represents a great opportunity to collaborate with other regional businesses, and the Wold Top Brewery prize is extra special as brewery tours are usually limited to the annual open weekend and special group visits."

Jennie added: "As for the next decade of our history, we're making ambitious plans and are looking forward to the next stage of our business journey."

Wold Top Export and Account Manager Kate Balchin said: "We are only too happy to offer this prize to the team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and their fans.

"It's a pleasure to support local food and drink producers as we understand the hard work that goes into launching and growing a family business."

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.  They now produce a range of oils, dressings and mayonnaise based on their award winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home and Yorkshire Wolds grown rape and pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.

They call North Breckenholme farm their home, situated on the edge of Yorkshire Wolds and on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire village Thixendale, close to Malton.

  3. The cold-pressed oil is extracted using a natural and chemical-free method, and is extra virgin as it is put through the presser just once. This means it retains all its taste, colour and health benefits, with a balance of omega 3, 6 and 9.
