CNWL's new Clinical Director of Addictions Services

Dr Deepti Shah-Armon has been appointed Clinical Director of CNWL's Addictions Division.

Currently Lead Psychologist for the service and based at Hillingdon's ARCH service, Dr Shah-Armon, who recently featured on BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat special - My Mind and Me - takes up her new role in the New Year where she will lead on delivering quality Addictions services.

She said: "It's a new challenge and an opportunity to really shape addictions services to make them fit for the future.

"Addictions is in a very competitive market where or services are constantly tendered. We want to retain our current services and bid for new ones, and we also want to focus on quality. I want to support our staff who work incredibly hard and are very passionate about what they do at a time of constant change," she said.

Dr Shah-Armon has been a clinical psychologist for more than 25 years, starting in HIV sexual health services before moving to addictions full time where she has been for more than 10 years.

She added: "I enjoy the pace of the work and the fact that every day is a different challenge. It's an incredibly satisfying area for me to work in."
