Doyenne of the High Street

Doyenne of the High Street, Tina Malhamé, continues to create a cachet of indefinable style

Any woman who wanted to look fashionable yet sophisticated in the 80's and 90's will have worn something designed by Tina Malhamé.

[image]For decades, Tina was the powerhouse behind collections for Next, Monsoon, Per Una, Laura Ashley, Anokhi and many other familiar High Street destinations, as well as renowned design houses such as Daniel Hechter in Paris.

Tina's elegant and unfussy style has been a quiet constant underpinning the perennial ebb and flow of fashion trends. Every woman needs a little touch of Tina's genius in her wardrobe, and nowadays it is possible to buy direct.

In 2011 Tina launched her own label NoLogo Chic,, an online store offering luxury clothing for women in carefully sourced natural fabrics. Her beautiful designs are still flying off the shelves, being a favourite with not only her long-established clientele but a magnet for any stylish woman seeking versatile, timeless and flattering luxury.

[image]Tina has won numerous awards for design, including the Christian Lacroix Award for International Linen Design and worked as an adviser to the EU in Brussels to promote good design. She has journeyed far and wide in her career as a designer, from Italy to India, Paris to the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and beyond.

Celebration of Indian artisan craftsmanship is very close to Tina's heart and she has recently been asked to supply a fellow champion of India, Joanna Lumley, with a best- selling easy jersey wrap dress. Offered in a variety of colours and lengths, this classic goes from the office straight to cocktails and continues to inspire contemporary offers the length of the High Street.

[image]NoLoGo Chic garments are made in Italy and India by crafts people who work tirelessly to continue traditional techniques such as block printing, hand embroidery, batik, dip dye and tie dye and weaving. Her latest Jaipur collection is a cascade of jewel colours and quality linens, perfect for winter sun and still good to go throughout spring and summer. Any one of these tunics will take a fashionista from the beach to a DJ set with barely a change of shoes, whilst the understated jersey dresses remain the epitome of chic.
