150 new reasons Cardiff is getting even greener…
Cardiff is getting even greener thanks to 150 new trees that are being planted in the city’s streets and parks.

The first trees are being planted this week, to coincide with National Tree Planting Week and the start of the winter tree planting season.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Peter Bradbury, said:  “Trees have been shown to have a range of benefits, for people’s health and their general wellbeing, so it’s a pleasure to be able to start our tree planting programme by planting the first of many trees that will be taking root in the western area of the city over the coming weeks.”

This year’s programme of planting has been supported by Cardiff Civic Society’s Tree Canopy project, Trees for Cities, and members of the public funding memorial trees in memory of their loved ones.
