The Whitewed Directory has
revealed the shortlist for its first-ever awards ceremony, to be held at the
DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Swindon on 1st February 2018.
Home to Gloucestershire and Wiltshire’s finest
wedding organisers and planners, the Whitewed Directory is the region’s
preeminent resource for brides- and grooms-to-be, with its in-depth vetting
process and Code of Practice which have defined its success.
Members of the Directory were allowed to
nominate themselves for three separate categories: Start-up Business of the
Year 2017, Business of the Year 2017, and Most Inspiring Person of the Year
2017.
The shortlisted nominees for each category have
now been revealed:

Business of the Year 2017
In this category, the judges are looking for a
start-up business which has shown strong growth in turnover in the past year,
and which offers the most innovative product or service.

Director of The Whitewed Directory, Natalie
Lovett, said: “I’m so excited about this news for all our incredibly dedicated
suppliers. What they deliver for newlyweds is exceptional, and I believe it’s
the right time to recognise both their passion and professionalism.”
The judging panel for the Whitewed Directory
Awards is formed of three highly respected experts in the industry, each with
deep professional and personal roots in the area.
Sara Tye is a development expert and serial
entrepreneur. She is founder and managing director of redheadPR, as well as
being the chair of Swindon Triathlon Club and CEO of Etape Suisse.
Nicky Alberry is involved in a number of
businesses and charities in Swindon, including the Swindon Museum & Art
Gallery Trust, Business West, and the Swindon Cares fundraising appeal, of
which she is a founding member.
Adam Flint has almost two decades of experience
in the hospitality industry and is the General Manager of the DoubleTree by
Hilton hotel in Swindon.
The judges were impressed by the number and
quality of entries, which showed both smart business aptitude and an
entrepreneurial spirit that the region should be proud of, and it was difficult
to select the finalists.
It was amazing
to see such drive, passion and variety from The Whitewed Directory members, and
the judges look forward to the unenviable task of choosing a winner in each
category.
