A Driffield Wagyu producer has reached the final of the prestigious Food and Farming Industry Awards.

The Yorkshire Wagyu Company has been named as a finalist in the Food Chain Marketing categoryin the awards that bring together the best of British food and farming businesses.

The Yorkshire Wagyu Company's Jonathan Shepherd said the shortlisting came as a pleasant surprise to the team.

"We're delighted to be a part of this event that recognises the farming and food industries and the contributions that businesses like our make to the sector. We're looking forward to heading to London for the awards ceremony at the House of Commons."

Guests at the black tie event on 1st December will enjoy a drinks reception and dinner followed by entertainment before the awards are presented by BBC Deputy Political Editor, John Pienaar.

This shortlisting announcement comes towards the end of a successful year for The Yorkshire Wagyu Company. In September, the company won the Regional Growth Business award for Northern and Central England at the Food and Drink Federation Awards and earlier in the year, its chuck steak was awarded two stars from the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste awards and was also shortlisted in the Great British Food Awards.
