NEW NOVEL EXPLORES MODERN MIGRANT EXPERIENCE OF WOMEN

Keith Sobey, betting expert and businessman turned author based in the North of England, has penned his first novel bringing the compelling stories of five female migrants to life.

Migrants is set to be the first in a series of books detailing inspirational global stories about people’s uprooted lives.

Sobey was inspired to write his debut novel after seeing news reports of the harrowing scenes of refugees from Asia dying by the thousand as they attempted to cross the Mediterranean.

He has commented: “The large numbers of people involved in this human tragedy and the diverse nature of their backgrounds struck a chord. I felt inspired to write stories that explore the many challenges facing individuals who undertake migratory treks in the hope of bettering their lives.

Migrants is the first in a planned series of novels about their lives. Its sequel, Wanderers is almost complete and tells the stories of five men who undergo similar challenges.”

Migrants is available to buy now, and Sobey is part way through a book tour. At each event, he issigning and personalising books for purchasers as well as talking briefly about Migrants, his autobiography Stick or Twist, and answering questions from the audience.
