Legal expert to speak at free event to help make Telford businesses safer
A free open evening dedicated to helping local businesses improve safety and reduce transport and logistics costs logistics takes place in Telford on Tuesday 5th September 2017.
Warehousing, materials handling, logistics, and road transport businesses in the Shropshire area are invited to attend the event at the RTITB Instructor Academy to discuss their training and compliance needs with industry experts, see demonstrations, and test their own skills. There will be free refreshments, networking opportunities, and a chance to view the unique training facilities.
Plus, there will be a presentation from special guest speaker Andrew Hopkin, Partner at Browne Jacobson, a specialist in defending corporate bodies and individuals in prosecutions brought by regulators such as the Health and Safety Executive. His presentation will look at the cost of injury claims to employers, and how meaningful and relevant training can help reduce the initial risk.
“Safety should be the top priority for any logistics or transport company so having the right instructors to train your staff is absolutely critical,” explains Laura Nelson, Managing Director for RTITB. “At this event, we want to help local businesses learn how they can increase safety by enhancing their training offering, all while cutting costs and improving ROI.”
The RTITB Instructor Academy in Telford is the only centre in the UK and Ireland dedicated to training the professional workplace transport and materials handling equipment instructors of the future. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of ‘train the trainer’ courses including LGV Instructor and Assessor, Lift Truck and Pallet Truck Instructor, Banksman and Yardshunter Instructor, and Driver CPC Instructor, among many others. Open evening attendees will also qualify for a discount code to redeem against future training bookings.
