HEALTHY INDIAN FOOD COMES TO MIDDLESBROUGH TOWN CENTRE

A healthy Indian snack shop has opened in Middlesbrough town centre.

Indy's Grub To Go has launched in Dundas Indoor Market, offering low fat Chicken Shawarmas and Indian style fresh fruit salads with herbs and spices, alongside more traditional onion bhajis, samosas, corn dogs and mango lassi (milkshake).

The new business is the brainchild of local businessman and foodie Indy Akmal who has worked in the food business for more than 30 years.

"We are offering tasty and healthy Indian hot and cold takeaway food," says Indy, who used to run a restaurant and takeaway business in North Ormesby.

"The Chicken Shawarmas contain almost no fat, and the fresh fruit salad includes herbs and spices which are said to help aid digestion and boost the immune system.

"I am excited to bring a whole new choice of spicy food to Dundas Market, Shopping Centre and Middlesbrough town centre. The indoor market is an ideal location for my new business. There's a great deal of passing trade and a real desire for my Indian food," continues Indy.

"Dundas Shopping Centre is rapidly becoming a natural choice for day time takeaway and eat-in food, with Indy's Grub To Go joining Brickyard Bakery and Jean's Kitchen in the Market and Cooplands and Orchard Café in the Shopping Centre," says Market Manager David Harris.

"Indy's Grub To Go joins a number of new traders we have welcomed to the Market in the past few weeks, as word continues to spread that this is an ideal place to run a business in Middlesbrough.

"We want a broad range of traders in the Dundas Market, so if you are looking for a location for a new business like Indy, or want to re-locate an established business, please get in touch. We've still got a limited number of Enterprise Units available, where the rent is as little as £10 per day all in. There is just the rent to pay, no worries about costs for security, utilities and rates."

Further information about units in the Dundas Market is available from Market Manager David Harris on tel. 01642 232552 or by email. david.harris@dundasindoormarket.co.uk.
