A UK construction business
specialising in high-end residential projects has been shortlisted for two
prestigious prizes at this year's London Construction Awards.
Golden Houses Developments is in the running for
the London Build Excellence Award, while the firm's founder and director Monika
Slowikowska has been shortlisted for the Women in Construction Award.
The shortlisting of Golden Houses in not just
one but two categories is just the latest piece of good news for the firm,
which is on track to exceed turnover by £80 million by the year 2020.
The company is known for bringing skill,
professionalism and integrity to its work, simplifying the building process through
clever design and attention to detail.
Recent projects have been completed in
residential centres across Greater London, including Highgate, Angel, Harrow,
Putney and Hampstead.
Also known for building excellent customer
relationships, it is fast becoming a leader in the high-end London residential
market. Name recognition for the firm is steadily increasing after it worked
with the host of Channel 4’s hit TV show Amazing Spaces in 2015 and was
featured on the cover of ELLE Decoration in 2012.
Monika Slowikowska is one of the only women in
construction company management. She is of Polish origin and came to Britain
unable to speak English, but has since held roles in the engineering,
architectural and construction industries.
She launched Golden Houses in 2012 and has built
it into a success story. The business is growing exponentially and achieved six
times higher turnover in its fourth year than it did in its first year.
Monika Slowikowska said: “It’s such a huge
honour to be a finalist in not just one, but two categories. I attribute the
growth of my company to good people, process management and a loyal workforce.
"Golden Houses Developments was founded to
change the construction industry and to end the constant focus on conflicts and
by using in-houses team reduce the cost of building. By working with customers
and building relationships, we have been able to design extravagant and
stunning spaces across this great city. I am so proud of what we have achieved
in such a short space of time.
"I would like to thank the judging panel of
the London Construction Awards for recognising our achievements by honouring us
with places on the shortlist."
The winners and runners-up will be announced
during an exclusive awards gala dinner on Wednesday 25th October at The Royal
Garden Hotel on Kensington High Street.
