DUNDAS MARKET IS THE NEW HOME FOR HANDCRAFTED GIFTS BUSINESS

PRESS RELEASE

DUNDAS MARKET IS THE NEW HOME FOR HANDCRAFTED GIFTS BUSINESS

A handcrafted jewellery, gifts and vintage business has moved into Middlesbrough’s Dundas Indoor Market.

Artisan and vintage emporium Alta Ego has relocated into the market from the town’s Wilson Street, and owner and designer Nicole Bean is delighted with her welcome from customers, fellow traders and the centre management.

Nicole, who designs and hand makes a wide range of jewellery, sculptures and textiles, says: “Dundas Indoor Market is a really supportive community and I feel very welcome in my new home.  My first week here has been very good.”

A graduate of Cleveland College of Art & Design, with a photography degree, Nicole set up Alta Ego in 2005 to sell her eclectic range of individual handmade goods.  She added crystals, incense and vintage gifts, but her focus remains on designing and crafting, and she accepts a number of commissions for her work.  She says: “What I make varies, but my style remains the same.”

Dundas Market Manager David Harris says: “Alta Ego’s unique handmade gifts join a number of other traders starting out in the market this month, as word continues to spread that this is an ideal place to run a business in Middlesbrough.

“We want a broad range of traders in the Dundas Market, so if you are looking to re-locate an established business like Nicole, or you want a place to start a new business, please get in touch.  We’ve still got a limited number of Enterprise Units available, where the rent is as little as £10 per day all in. There is just the rent to pay, no worries about costs for security, utilities and rates.”

Alta Ego is open from open from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays and can be contacted on tel. 07716 536099 or via www.facebook.com/altaego

Further information about units in the Dundas Market is available from Market Manager David Harris on tel. 01642 232552 or by email. david.harris@dundasindoormarket.co.uk.
