Technology is transforming the way we shop for cars

Recently released SMMT figures showed that the used car sales market is at a record high, in fact sales are up 3.4% on last year. The report verified that a 2,133,956 used cars changed hands in the first three months of the year.

But is the way we are shopping for cars changing too? It would seem so.

It has been clear for a while that the new car market has moved online and buyers are taking advantage of a number of platforms to research and source their new cars. The second hand market now appears to be closely following this pattern. Businesses, such as Carcodeal, are offering both buyers and sellers a win-win approach. The use of clever technology combined with an easily accessibly website looks likely to completely overhaul and radically improve both the private seller and car trader user-experience. To corroborate the announced increase in car sales and the changing way in which we are all making our purchases, Carcodeal reports dealer registrations to the site have shown a 80% percentage increase this year and completed deals have increased 60% percent.

The unique platform allows sellers to gain an immediate offer from interested motor traders and allows them to compare these deals easily online, book an appointment with the dealer and complete their deal instantaneously.

Carcodeal allows dealers to look for exactly the models they know their customers want. They can stipulate make, model, service history and MOT length. Just as importantly they can dip in and out of the service when they want with the view to keeping their stock at the optimum level.

The platform was started in 2015 by brothers Ali and Iman Samizadeh. Neither are motoring experts, but are car enthusiasts. What they do have is expertise and experience in computational intelligence and search engine marketing (SEM) - a world away from the traditional car sales man!
