Perfect for Mother's Day: Experience An Interior Design Workshop Together

On 22 April 2017 Lauren Gilberthorpe will be hosting her third LGI Interior Design Workshop in heart of the Cotswolds and is hosting the event with mothers and daughters or mothers and sons invited to attend as a gift for Mothers' Day. Lauren's inaugural workshop was a sell-out and, after hosting another full session in January, she is excited to host the next one with interior design fans of all generations in mind.

Lauren, a recent Houzz Inc winner for her interior design customer service, says: ‘This workshop is such a great way to spend a day with like-minded (interiors-obsessed!) people in a gorgeous location. We've had people buying tickets for their mums for Mothers' Day, and it really is a wonderful gift for those that would like tips and to try their hand at interior design.

‘Following on from great feedback from the last workshop, we'll be keeping the really popular elements including floor-planning, where I teach attendees an easy way to draw to scale, and the importance of creating a mood board for your space. Everyone loves the bit where we look at choosing paint colours, as this is something that a lot of people find really overwhelming and, by popular demand, we're going to do a section covering where to shop!'

Those attending previous workshops brought scribbles, plans and photographs of their own homes and projects and Lauren is keen to spend time giving her expert advice for the best solution. She adds: ‘What I love about the workshops is that everyone got on so well and there were so many great tips flying around the room from people that had came across similar hurdles and design dilemmas. With family members there supporting each other, this adds a new element to joint project working, and we can talk about which roles people take on according to their strengths.'

The workshop is held at the stunning Barn at Upcote, which Lauren describes as being ‘perfect for the day - the light in the space is beautiful and spot on for looking at paint colours and fabrics.'  Lauren will also working with Siobhan Wolton, a local Cotswold foodie and blogger, who creates gorgeous locally sourced spread for guests.

Lauren concludes: ‘With Mothers' Day just around the corner I am delighted to have some rather fabulous gift cards for this event so people can purchase a ticket for their wonderful mum - perhaps something they can attend together. This is a brilliant day out and the perfect gift. When ordering the gift card on the website, people just need to note on their order that they'd like a gift card and we'll get one out to them or their mum in time for Mothers' Day!'
