Leading lesbian publisher signs Literally PR to support UK book launches

 

London, United Kingdom, January 26th2017: Leading international lesbianfiction publisherYlva Publishinghas signed British agencyLiterally PR Ltd(LitPR) to support the launch of myriad titles due for release in 2017 including the introduction of a new modern, lesbian, black superwoman protagonist in a new ‘Superheroine Collection', plus a women's football inspired romantic fiction story due for release in time for the EURO Women's Championships in Holland this summer, and the latest instalment in the crime mystery series set in Norfolk, England.

 

Ylva Publishing, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is globally renowned as a publisher of quality women's literature with a focus on lesbian fiction. The company works with authors from around the world and at the end of 2016 opened a new imprint,Queer Pack, that gives a home to the amazing stories that struggle to find a platform, be they about characters who are trans, non-binary, genderfluid, asexual, pansexual, bisexual — the list goes on!

 

Ylva is a woman-owned, women-run publisher, directed and founded by Astrid Ohletz, that seeks out stories about strong female characters who are lesbian or bisexual. The company, founded in 2011, publishes romance and erotica, mystery, paranormal, YA and historical fiction. Lesbian fiction is defined as novels with lesbian or bisexual women as the main character(s) and it is a fast growing publishing genre that holds strong appeal beyond gender and sexuality boundaries.

 

LitPR has worked with more than 200 authors, literary agents and publishers over the past five years, helping to launch new books and build authors' platforms to reach wider audiences. The partnership between Ylva and LitPR aims to build further engagement with British lesbian fiction fans and open Ylva's portfolio of books to a more mainstream market.

 

Since 2011, Ylva has published over 150 books (digital and/or print) and plans to release over 45 books in 2017. LitPR can confirm that three of the titles scheduled for release by Ylva in the first half of this year are:

  • Under Parr by Andrea Bramhall (May 2017)

  • Defensive Mindset by Wendy Temple (May 2017)

  • Shattered (The Superheroine Collection) by Lee Winter (June 2017)

Lamda Award-winning British author Andrea Bramhall recently moved to the Lake District from Norfolk, where her latest mystery, crime thriller series is set. Under Parr is the second book in the Norfolk Coast Investigation Series, which is due for release on 13th May 2017 at an event that will bring the fictional crime scene (a Norfolk golf club) to life.

Andrea writes mainstream fiction with LGBTQ main characters. Under Parr opens on December 5th2013, a day that leaves its mark on the North Norfolk Coast in more ways than one. A secret kept for years, until it falls squarely into the lap of Detective Sergeant Kate Brannon and her fellow officers.

Lee Winter is an award-winning newspaper journalist and in her 25-year career has lived in virtually every state of Australia, covering courts, crime, entertainment, hard news, features and humour writing. These days she's a sub-editor at a Sunday metro newspaper, lives with her girlfriend of 16 years and has a fascination for shiny new gadgets and trying to understand the bizarre world of US politics.

 

Lee writes across lesfic genres, from dark thrillers to romance, and her next book is set to break boundaries by introducing the world's first lesbian guardian. Ylva's Superheroine Collection includes three novels and one novellas, all due for release throughout 2017, with more superheroine novels scheduled for 2018. Shattered, Lee Winter's novel, will launch in June 2017.

 

Shattergirl is a brilliant but aloof alien superheroine who can hurl and destroy large objects like the best of them, but she's refusing to save people and has gone off the grid. On 16thJuly until 6thAugust 2017, the world is set to go football-crazy! The UEFA Women's EURO 2017 Finals will take place in the Netherlands, and as a self-confessed sports fanatic, Wendy Temple's new novel, Defensive Mindset, is to be released just before this important football championship kicks off. Wendy played hockey and volleyball competitively in Scotland, and now plays five-a-side football for leisure - a passion that has translated into her latest romantic fiction novel.

A passionate Scot, Wendy grew up in East Edinburgh. As a child it was her dream to live on the historic Royal Mile, which she did for a number of years before returning to the seaside a few years ago. With an academic background in Community Education; Healthcare and Physical Education, Wendy is a passionate advocate of keeping access to further education and healthcare free for all, and PE lessons accessible to all schoolchildren.
