Going out? Keep warm with Herschel

Herschel Far infrared panel and space heaters add a touch of style to any pub, restaurant or hotel interior and/or exterior. Whether warming diners in the restaurant, sippers in the bar, or guests enjoying a coffee on the terrace, Herschel has the answer.

As the UK's leader in Far infrared heating, Herschel products are backed by an unbeatable combination of price, ease of installation and the many benefits or infrared heating. Working on the basis of long-wave (Far) infrared, rather than heating air, Herschel's heaters directly and gently heat objects, the thermal mass of the building and people. Once the thermal mass is warmed, it stores the heat, then radiates it back keeping the surroundings warm. This differs from traditional forms of convection heating which focus on heating large volumes of air which can disappear in draughts, and requires more energy to maintain the same comfort levels. Herschel heaters typically only need to run for an average of five hours per day over the heating period compared to around eight hours for convection heaters.

Paul Morey, Herschel's CEO, comments: "Infrared heating has huge potential because of its ability to reduce energy use while providing comfortable heat. More and more cafes, restaurants and bars are installing Herschel products as they see infrared as not only a stylish heating solution but one that can reduce costs and carbon emissions and harness the potential of solar power."

Whatever size or style the inside space, Herschel offers a choice of heaters that can be wall-or ceiling-mounted and will create a warm environment for customers. The panel heaters, which can be controlled through timers and thermostats, can be tailored to show a logo or message and add a modern twist to any environment.

Turning to the exterior, outdoor heaters for pub and restaurant terrace heating has traditionally been the preserve of Gas "SpaceRay" type heaters or, more recently, Quartz Halogen heaters. Herschel offers an outdoor heating range which is suitable for use under covered and semi-covered areas, which is 30% more efficient than halogen and tungsten and features products which require no maintenance. In addition, Quartz bulbs have a life expectancy of approximately 12 months while Far Infrared emitters are guaranteed for five years and have a life expectancy of significantly more than that.
